A week-long series of internal audit courses provides New York-area internal auditors the opportunity to fill gaps in their portfolio of skills
New York area internal auditors will have the opportunity to get up to speed on several topics all in one week, as MISTI's Training Week heads to the Big Apple.
The week-long series of seminars will take place from October 17-20 at the Convene Conference Center in Midtown Manhattan. Internal auditors can choose from among nine courses, including such foundational courses as Fundamentals of Internal Auditing, IT Audit School, and Intermediate IT Audit School.
During training week, MISTI will also offer several courses in specific areas of interest. For example, the course Fraud Testing: Integrating Fraud Detection into Your Audit Program, with instructor Leonard Vona, will focus on helping auditors to prepare fraud risk assessments for core business systems and to build fraud audit procedures. Throughout this three-day seminar, case studies and class exercises will further illustrate how to integrate fraud detection into your audit program and reinforce proper fraud detection methodologies.
Another three-day course, Governance, Risk, and Compliance will instruct attendees on how to implement a best-in-class GRC integrated framework in an organization. They will learn what the audit committee and boards are seeking from their executives about GRC. You will learn how to work with executive management to set the appropriate tone for ethics, compliance, investigations, and fraud reporting, and the management of governance risks.
Internal auditors can make the most of the week by adding a two-day seminar on such topics as Effective Business Writing for Auditors or Project Management for Auditors, with instructor Kathleen Crawford.
The week will also offer several networking opportunities. There's no better time to be in New York than the fall, and MISTI's Training Week provides a great reason to head there.
