D4 The Common Credentials Dilemma
Philip Lieberman, President and CEO, Lieberman Software
Date: Tuesday, 16 April 2013
Time: 8:30am - 9:30am
Typically, large enterprises have thousands of privileged accounts (administrator/root/SA accounts), so IT groups often deploy systems with identical passwords and leave then unchanged. The fundamental flaw with this practice is the serious security implications and regulatory compliance violations that occur if the local password on even one system is compromised.
Without frequently and automatically generating unique passwords for every privileged account, users/hackers can decrypt one password and gain unrestricted access to every place in the network that uses the same credentials. This can subject C-level staff and the organization to excessive risks, fines, and potential reputation loss due to the inability of IT to properly manage privileged identities.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:
Attend this session to learn:
· How to identify and remediate the common credentials problem permanently
· Best practices for securing, managing and continously changing your privileged accounts
· Success factors for automating the tedious, manual, and error-prone tasks of discovering and managing privileged identities
