The old saying, "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it," is never truer than in looking at cases of insider fraud and abuse. One of a bank's biggest fears is the "uh-oh moment" when it discovers a large insider fraud. As much as we'd like to avoid such a scenario, it is important to use the lessons of fraud to reshape bank practices and audit programs. Mr. Severson will share real-life cases and how the experiences changed the victim bank and the auditor who investigated.
